DENPASAR – Personnel from the Bali Regional Police, under the Preventive Task Force of “Operasi Cipta Kondisi Agung-2026,” conducted a dialogue-based patrol at Kumbasari Market on Jalan Gajah Mada, Denpasar, on Sunday (1/3/2026).
Led by Police First Inspector (Iptu) I Komang Sulendra, S.H., the unit of 16 officers carried out the operation as a preemptive measure to maintain public order and security (kamtibmas) ahead of the upcoming Nyepi (Saka New Year) and Eid al-Fitr holidays.
Head of Public Relations for the Bali Police, Senior Commissioner Ariasandy, S.I.K., confirmed that patrols are being prioritized in high-risk areas across Denpasar, including Kumbasari Market, which serves as a vital economic hub.
The presence of police personnel is also aimed at providing security briefings to traders and visitors. We urge them to remain vigilant against potential criminal activities and to foster a sense of safety within the community,” Ariasandy stated.
He also encouraged the public to play an active role in maintaining a conducive environment, advising anyone who encounters suspicious individuals or falls victim to a crime to immediately contact the 110 call center.
Authorities noted that security threats typically escalate ahead of major holidays. Criminals often exploit high-mobility locations, such as traditional markets, where instances of pickpocketing are more frequent.“We are here to prevent and minimize any form of security disturbance. The surge in public activity leading up to the holidays must be met with heightened security measures to ensure the situation remains stable,” Ariasandy added. The “Operasi Cipta Kondisi Agung-2026” is scheduled to run for eight days, from March 1 to March 8, 2026.
