Bali Governor Wayan Koster received a formal visit from Winarto, the Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLH/BPLH), at the Governor’s Office on Tuesday (7/4/2026).
During the meeting, Koster highlighted a significant impact following the implementation of the organic waste disposal ban, which took effect on April 1, 2026. He noted that the volume of garbage trucks entering the Suwung Landfill (TPA Suwung) in Denpasar has plummeted by more than 50 percent.
Prior to the new regulation, the landfill typically processed over 500 trucks per day.
”Since April 1, only residual waste is permitted at TPA Suwung,” Koster stated. “On average, the number of trucks heading to the site has decreased by more than 50 percent. This represents extraordinary progress in our waste management efforts.” Koster reply

Soon today we will check and survey the new waste landfield says the Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Indonesia and TPA Suwung will be closed.
