Eyewitness News – DENPASAR
Denpasar Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Leonardo David Simatupang, S.H., M.Si., hosted a gathering with over 20 media representatives from across Bali at the Pesat Gatra Hall, Denpasar Police Headquarters, on Monday (May 18, 2026).
The event also served as a presentation of the Police Chief’s First 100 Days in Office.
During his address, the Police Chief praised the synergy and solidarity of the press in delivering balanced and positive reporting. He noted that such journalism acts as a vital bridge between the National Police (Polri) and the people of Denpasar, while maintaining a conducive environment for Bali’s tourism industry.

“We are using this 100-day milestone as an opportunity for evaluation. We will continue to improve our services and maintain public transparency, in line with the police slogan: ‘Serve with a Sincere Heart'” the Police Chief stated firmly.
“The police remain open to constructive criticism from our media colleagues in Bali for the advancement of our services within the jurisdiction of the Denpasar Police,” he added.
Representing the Bali media, Yudha Maruta from TVRI Bali expressed his appreciation during his remarks.

“We, the media crew, are grateful for the achievements and the excellent cooperation with the Denpasar Police, particularly the Public Relations Bureau. They have been highly effective in providing access to information and confirmation space, allowing us to produce journalistic work that is straightforward, clear, and easily understood by the public, while upholding the journalistic code of ethics,” Yudha said.
However, Yudha also expressed hope for continued information transparency regarding high-profile cases handled by the Denpasar Police. He emphasized that such cases should not be covered up, which could be perceived as silencing the nation’s democratic principles.
The event then proceeded with a question-and-answer session between the media and the Denpasar Police Chief, featuring representatives from the Indonesian Television Journalists Association (IJTI) Bali and the online news outlet Bali Id.News.com.
The gathering within the Denpasar Police Headquarters concluded warmly.
