The Bali Province Family Welfare Movement (TP PKK) has engaged local students in a series of competitions as part of the 54th PKK Movement Unity Day (HKG) at the provincial level. This initiative aims to serve as a platform for character building while instilling a love for local culture from an early age.
​The Chairperson of TP PKK Bali, Ny. Putri Suastini Koster, emphasized that children’s education is not solely the responsibility of schools, but also the family—specifically highlighting the pivotal role of mothers as primary educators at home. She noted that synergy between the family and the educational environment is crucial in shaping an excellent generation with strong character.
“Schools play a major role in instilling moral values, ethics, and courtesy, which will serve as a foundation for children into adulthood,” said Ny. Putri Koster during the opening of the Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali Gymnastics Competition at the Narigraha Building on Wednesday (July 1 2026).
The gymnastics competition drew participation from senior high school (SMA) students across all regencies and cities in Bali, with each region fielding a team of 20 participants. In addition to promoting a healthy lifestyle through physical exercise, the event also served as an arena to strengthen camaraderie among students.
​Ny. Putri Koster urged all participants to compete fairly by upholding sportsmanship, teamwork, and mutual respect. She emphasized the importance of eliminating jealousy and unhealthy rivalry in any competition.
​Beyond gymnastics, the 54th HKG PKK lineup also features cooking and choir competitions, which similarly involve high school students from across Bali. According to her, these activities are designed to support both physical and mental well-being while reinforcing the preservation of regional culture.
Meanwhile, the choir competition was organized as an effort to introduce and preserve traditional Balinese songs among the youth. Through this activity, students are expected to become more familiar with, love, and take pride in their regional cultural heritage.
​Through this series of competitions, TP PKK Bali hopes to nurture a younger generation that is not only healthy and principled, but also deeply committed to preserving local culture amidst modern developments.
