Anticipate Public Order Disturbances, Police Intensify Patrols in Canggu, Bali’s Entertainment District

Badung, EyewitnessNews | With tourism and nightlife activities continuing across the Canggu area and down to Batu Bolong Beach, the Badung Resort Police intensified their “Blue Light Patrol” in the early hours of Monday (August 31, 2026).

This measure was taken to ensure security is maintained and to provide a sense of safety for both the local community and tourists.

The patrol, which began around 02:00 WITA (Central Indonesian Time), was conducted by personnel from the Badung Police’s Samapta Unit (Public Order/Patrol Unit) using a service vehicle, the Kijang 901. Operations focused on preventing public order disturbances, street crime, acts of thuggery, and “C3” crimes—specifically aggravated theft (*curat*), violent theft/robbery (*curas*), and motor vehicle theft (*curanmor*)—within the tourist area.

Badung Police Head of Samapta Unit, AKP Made Mangku Bunciana, stated that the Blue Light Patrol serves as a preventive measure to maintain security stability, particularly in areas with high levels of activity from late night through the early morning hours.

“We want to ensure that the public and tourists feel safe while going about their activities. The presence of police officers in the field represents a form of service and a preventive effort to minimize potential security disturbances,” he said.

Officers traversed the route from Canggu to Batu Bolong Beach, monitoring parking areas and keeping an eye on various nightlife venues. According to AKP Mangku Bunciana, the patrol was conducted with a humanistic approach, prioritizing dialogue and monitoring situations at locations prone to public order issues.

He urged the public, business owners, and tourists to remain vigilant, safeguard their belongings, and immediately report any suspicious incidents to police officers or via the National Police emergency hotline at 110.

“We hope that the synergy between the police, the community, and business owners continues to strengthen, ensuring that the Canggu and Batu Bolong areas remain safe, comfortable, and conducive environments as premier tourist destinations in Badung Regency,” he concluded.
