The Adhyaksa Monitoring Center (AMC) Team of the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia, in collaboration with the Intelligence Team of the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office, successfully apprehended a fugitive fraud convict named FIRMAN HANDOKO on Friday, October 9, 2026, at a restaurant in the Bedugul area, Tabanan Regency, Bali.
This arrest is part of the ongoing efforts by the Indonesian Prosecutor’s Office to track down and secure fugitives who have received legally binding court rulings (inkracht), ensuring the enforcement of court verdicts and providing legal certainty to the public.
Based on the Supreme Court Cassation Ruling Number 125 K/Pid/2024 dated February 27, 2024, convict FIRMAN HANDOKO was legally and convincingly proven guilty of fraud, as stipulated under Article 378 of the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP), and was sentenced to 2 years and 7 months in prison. The convict’s actions resulted in losses amounting to IDR 50,000,000,000 (fifty billion rupiah) for the victim.

Cross-Provincial Pursuit
The operation to secure the convict began on the night of Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Following coordination with the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office, the AMC Team departed from Jakarta to Yogyakarta to trace the convict’s whereabouts. During the operation, duties were divided: the AMC Team conducted mobile tracking by following the target’s movements, while the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office team remained on standby in Bali to provide logistical support and assist with the apprehension should the target enter the region.
Upon arriving in Yogyakarta, intelligence tracking revealed that the convict had moved toward Sidoarjo, East Java. Acting on this lead, the AMC Team immediately headed to Sidoarjo. However, further monitoring indicated that the convict had moved again from Sidoarjo to Banyuwangi, eventually crossing into Bali via the Ketapang Ferry Port. The AMC Team continued the pursuit, tracking the target directly onto the island of Bali.
Following a series of intensive tracking and surveillance operations, the AMC Team and the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office finally apprehended FIRMAN HANDOKO at a restaurant in Bedugul, Tabanan Regency, Bali.
Peaceful Arrest and Handover
At the time of the arrest, the convict was on a holiday trip with his wife and two children. The operation proceeded safely, orderly, and smoothly. The convict and his family were cooperative, resulting in no resistance or obstacles during the apprehension.
The team then escorted the convict—accompanied by his wife and children—to the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office. At 5:15 PM WITA, the team and the convict arrived at the office, where they were received by the Assistant for Intelligence, the Head of Section I for Intelligence, and the Acting Head of Section V for Intelligence.
Following administrative processing and coordination, the convict was handed over to the Denpasar District Attorney’s Office. The district office had been previously instructed to prepare the necessary administrative procedures, as it holds the jurisdiction to execute legally binding court rulings.
The successful capture of this fugitive demonstrates the firm commitment of the Indonesian Prosecutor’s Office to uphold the supremacy of law, provide legal certainty, and ensure that all legally binding court decisions are properly executed.
The Bali High Prosecutor’s Office reaffirmed its support for professional, decisive, and continuous law enforcement, emphasizing that there is no safe haven for convicts trying to evade justice.
