Denpasar, Bali Eye Witness News – Public interest in gold ownership continues to grow, driven by an increasing awareness of the importance of building and preserving asset value over the long term. This has fueled the demand for gold investment services that are accessible, flexible, and tailored to the individual capabilities and needs of the public.
To address this, Bank Mandiri has introduced a convenient way to withdraw physical gold through Gold ATMs integrated with its digital platform, Livin’ by Mandiri. This service allows customers with gold savings accounts to withdraw physical gold bars through a practical process, further enhancing an investment experience that has become increasingly accessible via digital channels.
This innovation aligns with the strengthening of Bank Mandiri’s bullion ecosystem, following the bank’s receipt of a bullion business license from the Financial Services Authority (OJK). Bank Mandiri is the first conventional bank in Indonesia to obtain such a license, underscoring its commitment to expanding public access to gold investments through integrated banking services.
Through these Gold ATMs, customers with gold savings accounts can easily obtain physical gold, with the process seamlessly integrated into the Livin’ by Mandiri app. This feature offers customers the flexibility to convert their digital gold balances into physical precious metal bars whenever the need arises.
Alexander Jonathan Patty, Regional CEO (RCEO) for Bank Mandiri’s Region XI (Bali and Nusa Tenggara), stated that Gold ATMs are now available at 28 locations across Indonesia. In Bali specifically, the service is available at the Bank Mandiri Denpasar Udayana branch, making it even easier for the local community to access services for owning and obtaining physical gold in a practical manner. “Through its Gold ATMs, Bank Mandiri offers a gold investment experience that is not only digitally accessible but also provides customers with the convenience of obtaining physical gold. This innovation is part of our commitment to continuously deliver financial services that are relevant to the public’s needs, while simultaneously expanding access to gold investment,” stated Alexander Jonathan Patty in an official statement on Thursday (October 15).
To use this service, customers who already hold a Gold Savings account simply need to open the ‘Gold Withdrawal’ (Ambil Emas) menu in the Livin’ by Mandiri app, select the ATM withdrawal option, and scan the QR code displayed on the machine. Customers then follow the on-screen instructions to choose the desired gold denomination and enter a verification code before collecting the physical gold and the transaction receipt. In addition to Gold ATMs, physical gold can also be collected through designated branch office locations.
The Gold ATM is an integral part of Bank Mandiri’s gold services, incorporated into the Livin’ by Mandiri super app. Through this single application, customers can manage all their gold investment needs—from opening a Gold Savings account, buying and selling gold, and utilizing installment facilities, to withdrawing physical gold. Digital transactions are available in real-time, 24 hours a day, offering customers the flexibility to manage their gold holdings according to their individual needs.
To begin investing, customers can open a Gold Savings account with an initial deposit of 0.02 grams—equivalent to approximately IDR 50,000—choosing from products offered by reputable brands such as ANTAM Logam Mulia and HRTA GOLD Emasku. Subsequent purchases can be made starting from as little as 0.005 grams (approximately IDR 10,000), allowing customers to tailor their investments to their individual financial capacity.
Customers can also buy and sell gold in real-time and monitor price movements directly through the application. This convenience offers customers the flexibility to manage their gold investments within a single digital platform, eliminating the need to switch between different apps.
For customers looking to build their gold holdings through an installment plan, Bank Mandiri offers *KSM Emas* (Kredit Serbaguna Mandiri Emas). This facility features low interest rates and competitive installment terms, with the price of gold locked in at the time of application. Once the installments are fully paid, the gold is credited to the customer’s Gold Savings account, where it can be traded or withdrawn in physical form.
As of August 2026, Livin’ by Mandiri has reached 42.1 million registered users, serving as a key foundation for the bank to expand the reach of its financial services, including gold investment.
Looking ahead, Bank Mandiri is preparing further innovations to complete its bullion ecosystem. These include *Multiguna Emas* (a cash loan facility secured by gold), *Autodebet Emas* (to facilitate recurring investments), and a feature for transferring gold between Livin’ users.
“We hope these innovations will encourage the public to build assets gradually, while simultaneously supporting the strengthening of the national bullion ecosystem—in line with Bank Mandiri’s commitment to ‘Grow Together, Advance Indonesia’,” concluded Alexander Jonathan Patty.
