‘Beranda Imigrasi’: The New Unified Name for 254 Immigration Service Units Outside Main Offices

Indonesian Immigration has officially established “Beranda Imigrasi” as a single brand name for all immigration service locations operating outside of the main Immigration Office buildings, which currently total 254 units across Indonesia. This standardization policy is designed to make it easier for the public to identify and access immigration service locations spread across various public spaces.

​Specifically, these 254 immigration service points consist of 156 Public Service Malls (Mal Pelayanan Publik), 33 Passport Service Units (Unit Layanan Paspor), 20 Immigration Lounges, 16 One-Stop Integrated Services (LTSP/LTSA), 15 Immigration Office Work Units, 13 Ultima I’m SeZ, and 1 Immigration Corner. Now, all of these immigration service units operate under the designation “Beranda Imigrasi”.

This rebranding of immigration service units impacts service locations on Google Maps and the M-Paspor application. Following the implementation of the standardized name “Beranda Imigrasi,” the public can search for non-office immigration service locations using the format “Beranda Imigrasi [insert area]”. For example, the service point formerly known as “Immigration Lounge Senyan City Mall” is now named “Beranda Imigrasi Senyan City Mall”.

​Director General of Immigration, Hendarsam Marantoko, explained that this name standardization stems from the Directorate’s desire to reduce public confusion caused by the numerous different terms and abbreviations used for external service units.

​”Previously, the public might have been familiar with terms like ULP, UKK, or Immigration Lounge. By introducing the single name ‘Beranda Imigrasi,’ we want people from all backgrounds to instantly and easily recognize immigration service points wherever they are,” Hendarsam stated.

​Hendarsam added that the name “Beranda Imigrasi” was chosen because it carries a profound philosophy. “Beranda” (veranda/porch) is defined as the forefront meeting point of a home before someone steps into a new place. This concept reflects the warmth, hospitality, and openness of Indonesian Immigration in serving and accompanying the public at the start of every journey.

“The main idea is to present a service area with a warm and friendly concept that breaks down the rigid impression of bureaucracy, while still upholding administrative order and professionalism. We want the public to feel close, comfortable, and served promptly every time they visit Beranda Imigrasi,” he continued.

​He noted that the presence of “Beranda Imigrasi” units integrated into public crowds—such as shopping malls, campuses, and integrated areas—is a tangible manifestation of Immigration’s commitment to continuously reaching out and providing easier access for all Indonesian citizens.
