Bali, Eyewitness | Australian artist Lauren Rogers intends to donate her painting to the upcoming Bali Peace Park, which will be built on the site of the former SC Restaurant, the site of the Bali Bombings, in Kuta.
According to Lauren, she painted the artwork as a gift to the Balinese people, and Dallas Jackson will deliver it on behalf of Australia. The Peace Park serves as a place of reflection, healing, and remembrance for the victims of the tragedy, connecting communities from around the world.
“I am honored to share that my latest artwork, Harmony of Country: A Path to Peace, will be gifted to the Balinese people for the opening of the Bali Peace Park. This work has profound meaning as it commemorates those who lost their lives in the Bali bombings and honors the enduring spirit of peace and unity,” she wrote on her blog.

The flowing blue lines in this artwork represent life-giving water, as does the compassion that binds us together. The circular motif symbolizes the gathering place, and the sky represents Negeri, and the colors of the earth represent Negeri, evoking the rich history and wisdom of the land. This reminds us of our responsibility to care for the earth and each other.
The Badung Regency Government (Pemkab) began clearing the former Sari Club site, located next to the Bali Bombing Memorial Monument on Jalan Legian, Kuta District, Badung, on Thursday (January 16th). The clearing is part of the government’s efforts to secure regional assets that have officially belonged to the Badung Regency Government since January 1, 2025. Furthermore, the Badung Regency Government also plans to transform the area into the Bali Peace Park Museum.
This land clearing was carried out through a synergy between the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (PUPR), the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), and with the support of the District Head, Village Head, and the Kuta Community Protection Unit (Linmas). During the process, several vendor stalls were also dismantled, including a motorbike rental tent and a money exchange building located at the front of the site.

“As of January 1, 2025, this location has become an asset of the Badung Regency Government. Therefore, in accordance with our authority, we are obliged to secure and protect this asset to prevent it from being used by unauthorized or irresponsible parties,” said Badung Police Chief I Gusti Agung Ketut Suryanegara.
Once the cleanup is complete, the land will be fenced off and a notice board will be installed stating that this is an asset of the Badung Regency Government. Information regarding future development uses of the land will also be provided.
