The Bali Regional Police (Polda Bali), in synergy with various stakeholders, has deployed 2,169 personnel to ensure security and public service during the dual celebrations of the Nyepi Holy Day (Saka New Year 1948) and Eid al-Fitr 1447 H.
The commencement of Operation Ketupat Agung 2026 was marked by a personnel briefing (Apel Gelar Pasukan) held at the Iptu Soetardjo Field, Mobile Brigade (Brimob) Headquarters in Tohpati, Denpasar, on Thursday (12/3).
The ceremony was attended by the Governor of Bali, Dr. Ir. Wayan Koster, M.M.; the Bali Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya; the Commander of Kodam IX/Udayana, Major General Piek Budyakto; and various high-ranking officials from relevant agencies.
Mission and Objectives
During the event, Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya stated that Operation Ketupat Agung 2026 will run for 13 days, from March 13 to March 25, 2026. The operation involves 2,169 police officers, supported by the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and inter-agency partners.
”There are two primary objectives for this operation. First, to ensure safety, security, order, and smooth traffic flow (Kamseltibcarlantas) during the Eid homecoming and return flows, as well as public activities during the holidays. Second, to maintain a conducive security environment before, during, and after the series of Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr festivities,” the Police Chief explained.

Strategic Deployment and Vital Objects
To support these security efforts, authorities have established 31 integrated posts, consisting of:
• 15 Security Posts (Pos Pam)
• 11 Service Posts (Pos Yan)
• 5 Integrated Posts (Pos Terpadu)
Security forces will be concentrated on vital objects and high-traffic locations across the island, including:
• Religious Sites: 256 mosques, 539 prayer rooms (musala), 351 Eid prayer locations, and 308 sites for Takbiran (eve of Eid) celebrations.
• Transport Hubs: I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, eight seaports, and 11 bus terminals.
• Public Areas: 77 tourist attractions, 59 traditional markets, seven modern markets, and 37 shopping centers.
Focus on Nyepi Rituals
Polda Bali will also provide special attention to the Nyepi Holy Day sequence, which falls on March 19, 2026. This includes securing the Tawur Agung Kesanga rituals and the 2026 Ogoh-ogoh Parades, which are central to the Saka New Year celebrations.
