As the holy month of Ramadan coincides with the sacred Day of Silence, Nyepi, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport is stepping up its services to ensure a seamless and harmonious experience for all travelers. The airport has finalized preparations to foster an atmosphere of cultural integration for passengers traveling to and from Bali during this unique period.
Nugroho Jati, General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia for I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, stated that several supporting services have been implemented to enhance the passenger experience.
These initiatives include cultural thematic decorations reflecting the island’s assimilation of traditions, ogoh-ogoh (giant effigy) processions, Eid al-Fitr parades, the distribution of free takjil (fast-breaking snacks), and an increase in mobile customer service personnel.
“We are committed to delivering top-tier service throughout Ramadan and the Nyepi celebrations on March 19. We are ensuring that all supporting facilities and service standards are at their peak, allowing passengers to experience a comfortable and harmonious journey,” Jati said.

He further explained that the airport’s terminal has been adorned with ornaments reflecting both Ramadan and Nyepi as a testament to Bali’s reputation as an island of harmony. “Thematic events, such as the ogoh-ogoh and Eid parades, are designed to strengthen the festive spirit at the airport. We hope these activations provide an unforgettable and pleasant travel experience for our patrons,” he added.
In addition to the festivities, the airport will distribute takjil daily before the fast-breaking hour in Bali. To further assist travelers, additional mobile customer service staff have been deployed across the terminal.
As of March 10, 2026, airport authorities have been coordinating closely with key stakeholders—including airlines, ground handling teams, and relevant agencies—to ensure flight operations remain smooth throughout the period.
Jati concluded by advising passengers to arrive at the airport early and utilize available facilities to streamline their journey. “Our goal is for every traveler to enjoy a safe and comfortable experience as they observe their holy traditions while traveling by air.”
