The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, in collaboration with the Indonesian National Central Bureau (NCB) Interpol Secretariat, has officially deported a British national identified by the Steven Lyons (45). SL is a high-profile Interpol fugitive and alleged mafia boss.
The subject was deported on Tuesday (07/04) via flight QG689 from Denpasar to Jakarta, followed by flight GA088 from Jakarta to Amsterdam.
Previously, Ngurah Rai Immigration authorities apprehended SL at the Immigration Checkpoint (TPI) of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on Saturday, March 28, 2026. The arrest occurred upon his arrival in Bali from Singapore after the immigration system flagged him as a subject of an Interpol Red Notice.
According to intelligence data and inter-agency coordination, SL is suspected of leading an international criminal organization. He is allegedly the mastermind behind a network involved in operating shell companies and large-scale money laundering activities.
The Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Bugie Kurniawan, stated that the successful apprehension serves as evidence of the effectiveness of Indonesia’s integrated immigration surveillance system.
”This deportation is a concrete step in our commitment to upholding national sovereignty. We will not allow Indonesian territory, particularly Bali, to become a refuge or a base of operations for international criminals. Stringent immigration oversight is our front line in protecting national security from potential foreign threats,” said Kurniawan.
Ngurah Rai Immigration continues to strengthen coordination with various law enforcement agencies, both domestically and internationally, to ensure accurate monitoring of foreign nationals. Consistent, intelligence-based immigration surveillance remains a crucial element in safeguarding the nation against transnational crimes, while ensuring national stability is maintained against irresponsible actors.
