InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) officially held the Nusa Dua Rejuvenation Kick-off on the Peninsula Island area on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, marking an important milestone in the revitalization and rejuvenation of the iconic Nusa Dua tourist area, focusing on several key strategic areas to enhance the region’s global competitiveness.

Troy Reza Warokka, ITDC’s Operations Director, stated that the redevelopment of Peninsula Island, an iconic public space in Nusa Dua, strategically serves as a recreation area, event space, and family activities. The redevelopment of Peninsula Island will be carried out in stages.

First, the event stage will be reconfigured to support more organized and representative events. Second, the rejuvenation of Water Blow access to make it more comfortable and safe for visitors. Third, the creation of a wedding area as a new facility to strengthen the area’s appeal for recreation and special events. It also promotes attractions on the Peninsula Island to enhance the tourist experience and strengthen public spaces as centers of tourist activity.

“The rejuvenation will prioritize environmentally friendly tourism. Most importantly, we will review and reevaluate several existing projects to determine whether they are still appropriate for the current situation in tourism concepts. We will review all of this within a committee at the ITDC. This means that this rejuvenation can adapt to the dam’s condition for at least the next 20 years. Most importantly, this process may be very ‘fast,’ but this is a construction process, so there will be some disruptions during the process, at least for the next two years. But we will try to complete it by the 3rd, or at the latest by the 5th,” he said.

He added that this initiative aims to align the Nusa Dua Peninsula Island area with Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) certification, ensuring that Nusa Dua remains a leading eco-friendly destination without destroying or adding additional iconic features that could distract tourists with new facilities. He added that tourists will still experience the same memories as their last visit to the Peninsula Island.

“This rejuvenation is also being balanced by hotel renovations, as seen in the fact that several hotels have begun renovating. Most importantly, we will maintain the current situation, which has made tourists comfortable and has become a memory for many, to ensure that visitors continue to return with a new experience,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Acting President Director of ITDC, Ahmad Fajar, stated that the Rejuvenation Kick-off is a strategic step that includes not only road infrastructure improvements but also the area’s appearance, targeting longer-stay tourist visits. This will increase income for tenants and everyone in the area, thus impacting the economy of the surrounding community.

“Our commitment to realizing the ITDC area is through a green initiative program within the InJourney Group environment, which is an initiative to create a sustainable tourism ecosystem following the Balinese development concept and adapting to Balinese arts and culture to make this peninsula island friend into a premium area,” he explained.
