In response to the arrest, the Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Bugie Kurniawan, issued a stern warning to transnational crime syndicates.
”We assert that Bali will never be a safe haven for international fugitives. The successful apprehension of SL is a testament to the sharp instincts and high level of expertise of our officers and landing officials at Ngurah Rai Airport. Our systems are well-integrated, and our officers are highly experienced in detecting and securing Interpol fugitives (DPO),” stated Kurniawan.

”We highly commend the performance of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office in securing this international fugitive. This success proves that the immigration surveillance system in Bali is effective, integrated, and responsive to transnational threats,” said Ratna.

Furthermore, Felucia Sengky emphasized that all units under the Bali Immigration Regional Office will continue to strengthen coordination, heighten vigilance, and optimize resources to safeguard Indonesia’s borders.
Utilizing technology and international cooperation. Bali must remain a safe and orderly region, leaving no room for lawbreakers, including international fugitives.
Following the apprehension at the international arrivals area, Ngurah Rai Immigration authorities immediately handed over the suspect, identified by the initials SL, to the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Regional Police (Polres). This transfer was conducted for further legal processing in accordance with standard procedures for the extradition of international fugitives.
The arrest of the British national serves as evidence of the multi-layered and stringent immigration surveillance at Bali’s points of entry. Ngurah Rai Immigration will continue to coordinate actively with Interpol and other relevant agencies to safeguard national security and order against transnational criminal threats.
