Head of Immigration Ngurah Rai explained at Pressconfrences today
Eyewitness BADUNG (March 7, 2026) – The Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Team (Inteldakim) of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, in collaboration with the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and Customs, has successfully conducted a joint operation resulting in the discovery of a Mephedrone laboratory for narcotics production in Gianyar, Bali.
During a covert operation spanning from Thursday night (March 5, 2026) to the early hours of Friday, authorities apprehended two Russian nationals identified by their initials, Sergey T (30) and Natalia T (29). Both are strongly suspected of being the primary figures behind the drug factory’s operations.
The Head of the Class I Special TPI Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Bugie Kurniawan, stated that this success was the result of highly cohesive intelligence collaboration.
This operation is tangible proof of the limitless synergy between Immigration, BNN, and Customs. We are fully committed to protecting Bali from all forms of illegal activities involving foreign nationals, particularly those linked to international drug syndicates.
The investigation began following a request for tracking assistance from the Directorate of Immigration Intelligence at the behest of BNN on February 4, 2026. BNN had identified Natalia’s alleged involvement in a drug trafficking network.
In response, the Ngurah Rai Inteldakim Team immediately conducted cross-border data tracking and field surveillance. Investigations on February 5, 2026, revealed that the residential address registered by NT in the Ungasan area, Badung Regency, was fictitious.
Armed with these findings, the joint team finalized their strategy and moved to conduct simultaneous raids on Thursday (March 5, 2026) at 11:30 PM WITA at two separate locations in Sukawati, Gianyar.
At the first location, Villa Renas Kubu, officers apprehended Sergey T. Authorities seized a Russian passport, a bag containing evidence, and gallons of chemical liquids strongly suspected to be raw materials for narcotics production.
Meanwhile, at the second location, The Tetamian Bali, officers secured Natalia T and confiscated chemical evidence concealed inside a white Toyota Agya.

In addition to the primary evidence, officers discovered a suspected counterfeit passport under the name Kseniia Kozina. It is alleged that the suspect, identified by the initials NT, used this forged document to lease both vehicles and the villa.
Following the arrest of the two foreign nationals, the joint task force extended their investigation. At 12:45 AM WITA, the team raided Villa De Bale Marcapada in the Saba area of Blahbatuh, Gianyar. On-site, authorities uncovered a clandestine laboratory. Two rooms had been converted into a narcotics production facility, fully equipped with jerry cans containing various chemical precursors.
Bugie Kurniawan confirmed that his office will take decisive action in accordance with established legal procedures. Beyond the narcotics criminal proceedings handled by the BNN (National Narcotics Board), the immigration side will ensure maximum law enforcement regarding the alleged passport forgery and misuse of stay permits.
Responding to the success of the operation, the Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration for Bali expressed appreciation to the entire team, particularly the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office.
We extend our highest appreciation to the Ngurah Rai Immigration team for their professionalism and responsiveness in uncovering this case. Synergy between Immigration, BNN, and Customs is key to protecting Bali from the threat of transnational crime, including drug trafficking involving foreign nationals,” he stated.
He further emphasized that immigration authorities in Bali will continue to strengthen surveillance of the presence and activities of foreign nationals to ensure that security and public order are maintained.
The Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration is committed to continuously improving cross-agency coordination and strengthening the immigration oversight function as part of our efforts to protect the community and maintain Bali’s reputation as a safe international destination.
