ITDC Bolsters Coordination with NTB Regional Police to Secure 2026 GT World Challenge Asia and MotoGP at The Mandalika

Eyewitness – The Mandalika, April 29, 2026 – InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) is ramping up preparations for upcoming international racing events through intensive coordination with strategic stakeholders. This commitment was underscored during a high-level visit by ITDC and the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) to the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police on Monday (27/4) to ensure comprehensive security readiness.
​The coordination centered on two major fixtures at The Mandalika: the GT World Challenge Asia, scheduled for May 1–3, 2026, and the 2026 MotoGP, set for October 9–11, 2026. Both events are projected to draw global attention and thousands of spectators.

​ITDC Director of Operations, Troy Warokka, who personally led the delegation, emphasized that ITDC is ensuring all operational aspects—particularly regional security—are prepared meticulously.

“The GT World Challenge Asia serves as the opening momentum for this year’s international event series at the Mandalika International Circuit, further solidifying the circuit’s strategic position on the global racing calendar. Meanwhile, MotoGP remains our flagship event, generating immense global exposure and significant economic impact for both the region and the nation,” Warokka stated.
​“In this regard, we look forward to the full support of the NTB Regional Police to ensure that the entire series of activities, from preparation to execution, proceeds safely, orderly, and smoothly,” he added.

The meeting also deliberated on an integrated security strategy designed to cover all bases, including site access management, traffic engineering, visitor flow control, and securing strategic points within and around The Mandalika area. This approach extends beyond race days to include the entire preparatory phase.
​Furthermore, security for concurrent regional activities was addressed. This includes ongoing investor construction projects and land preparation efforts aimed at accelerating the development of tourism infrastructure and supporting facilities. Synergy between the zone management and security forces is considered crucial to ensuring all processes remain secure and compliant with prevailing regulations.
​The NTB Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Pol. Edy Murbowo, S.I.K., M.Si., affirmed his personnel’s readiness to secure both events.
​“We are prepared to provide maximum security support for both the GT World Challenge Asia and MotoGP through reinforced integrated security across the region and at strategic locations. We will ensure that the public order and security situation (Kamtibmas) at The Mandalika remains conducive, allowing all stages of the events to run safely and smoothly,” the Police Chief asserted.

MGPA President Director, Priandhi Satria, added that synergy with security forces is a key factor in the successful delivery of international events. “This coordination is a vital step in ensuring that the entire series of events at The Mandalika is executed securely, during both the preparation and the live event stages,” he noted.
​Through this strengthened synergy between ITDC, MGPA, and the NTB Regional Police, the 2026 GT World Challenge Asia and MotoGP are expected to be held successfully, further cementing The Mandalika’s reputation as a world-class sport tourism destination.
