Bali Global News – Denpasar | The Bali Provincial Government officially received a courtesy call from a strategic international delegation from the United Kingdom, the Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS), at the Media Center Meeting Room of the Bali Provincial Tourism Office on Thursday (May 21, 2026).
Led directly by the Vice Commandant of the RCDS, Air Vice Marshal Tamara Jennings, alongside representatives from the British Embassy in Jakarta, the visit aimed to deeply examine regional resilience strategies, economic stability, and Bali’s culture-based tourism management model amid shifting global geopolitical dynamics.

In his opening remarks, the Provincial Secretary of Bali, represented by the Assistant for General Administration, I Wayan Serinah, emphasized that this international forum holds strategic significance as a platform for exchanging grand-strategy policy ideas.
The Provincial Secretary conveyed that Bali’s resilience relies not only on physical infrastructure but is heavily reinforced by its socio-cultural capital, the spirit of mutual cooperation (gotong royong), and the Tri Hita Karana philosophy—which promotes harmony between humans and God, fellow humans, and the environment.
During the meeting, the Bali Provincial Government, represented by the Head of the Tourism Destination Department, A.A. Made Anggia Widana, S.St.Par., M.M., presented several key development milestones. Bali’s economic growth in 2025 was recorded at 5.82 percent, outpacing the national average, while the province’s unemployment and poverty rates remained the lowest in Indonesia.

The tourism sector continues to be the primary engine of Bali’s economy, drawing 6.94 million international tourists and 9.61 million domestic visitors throughout 2025. Additionally, Bali has repeatedly secured various international accolades as the world’s top travel destination.
Nevertheless, the Bali Provincial Government acknowledged ongoing challenges, including traffic congestion, waste management issues, land conversion, and regional development disparities. To address these, Bali continues to implement its long-term development vision, “100 Years of the New Era of Bali,” through the Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali concept.

The Provincial Government also reaffirmed its commitment to fostering quality tourism by enforcing stricter regulations for foreign tourists, strengthening local economies and MSMEs, distributing infrastructure development evenly beyond South Bali, and accelerating clean energy and environmental management programs.
The visit of the UK’s Royal College of Defence Studies delegation concluded with a highly productive interactive discussion. The Bali Provincial Government expressed hope that this exchange of perspectives would strengthen bilateral relations, pave the way for cross-border collaboration, and inspire other regions globally on how culture-based destinations can build robust economic resilience amid global uncertainty.
