Bali High Prosecutor’s Office officially Signs A Partnership Agreement To Provide Legal Identity Documents For Abandoned Children

To ensure that every abandoned child in Bali receives legal identity documents, the Bali High Prosecutor's Office officially signs a partnership agreement to provide legal identity documents for abandoned children.

Denpasar, Eyewitness | In the spirit of protecting the rights of the most vulnerable children, the signing of this partnership agreement is a concrete step towards ensuring that every abandoned child in Bali obtains legal identity. With legal identity documents, they can access education, health services, and social protection that have previously been difficult to access.

The signing of the partnership agreement on providing legal identity documents for abandoned children in Bali Province took place at the ST. Burhanuddin Auditorium of the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

Attending were the Head of the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office, Setiawan Budi Cahyono, S.H., M.Hum.; the Chief Justice of the Bali High Religious Court, H.E. Dr. Drs. H. Suhadak, S.H., M.H., Regional Secretary of Bali Province; Mr. Dewa Made Indra, Clerk of the Denpasar High Court; and relevant officials from the Social Services, Civil Registration Department, and cross-sectoral agencies.

According to Setiawan, through this agreement, the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office and relevant partners have agreed on a coordination process for guardianship applications from State Attorneys to the issuance of birth certificates, National Identification Numbers (NIK), Family Cards, and Child Identity Cards.

“This step is expected to accelerate the fulfillment of the identity rights of neglected children, simplify the process, and serve as a pilot project that can be implemented nationally,” he said in a press release.

The Bali High Prosecutor’s Office remains committed to humane law enforcement that is oriented toward child protection to create a protected and empowered generation.
