National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo held a “Sabuk Kamtibmas” (Public Order Belt) gathering with Pecalang (Balinese traditional security officers) and local online motorcycle taxi (ojol) communities in Bali.
The initiative aims to bolster synergy in maintaining public order and security (Kamtibmas) while deepening the police force’s partnership with various community sectors.
During the briefing, the National Police Chief emphasized that maintaining public order is a collective responsibility that requires active collaboration across all community components, including the Pecalang and ojol drivers.
​”The Pecalang and online motorcycle taxi communities play a vital role in helping maintain public security and order. The synergy we have built so far is an essential foundation for creating a safe and conducive environment,” General Listyo Sigit stated.
The four-star general further noted that the National Police cannot work in isolation amid shifting security dynamics. Consequently, a robust partnership with Pecalang and ojol drivers—acting as strategic partners or the “Public Order Belt”—is crucial to enhancing early detection and preserving regional stability.
“The National Police require strong synergy with the Pecalang and online motorcycle taxi communities as strategic partners to support the realization of a conducive security environment,” he asserted.
Moving forward, the Police Chief expressed hope that such gatherings will continue regularly to strengthen coordination, communication, and information sharing, ensuring that any potential security disruptions can be preempted early on.
“The synergy between the National Police, Pecalang, and online taxi communities is expected to further fortify regional stability and enhance the public’s sense of safety and comfort,” the Police Chief concluded.
