The transformation of the Peninsula Island area in The Nusa Dua is beginning to yield tangible results. InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) continues to optimize its area rejuvenation program, part of an ongoing effort to present a fresh, modern, comfortable, safe, and sustainable face for this world-class tourism destination. As of the 25th week of construction (the period of June 14–20, 2026), the cumulative physical progress of the project has reached 23.7%, with several key infrastructures and strategic public spaces entering the final stages of completion.
This rejuvenation program represents a strategic move by ITDC to elevate the quality of The Nusa Dua as Indonesia’s premier premium tourism destination. Beyond upgrading infrastructure, the project is designed to enhance the visitor experience through a more representative spatial layout. This will support various tourism activities, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), sport tourism, and the international events regularly hosted at The Nusa Dua.
The General Manager of The Nusa Dua, I Made Agus Dwiatmika, stated that the area’s transformation focuses not only on physical development but also on providing public spaces that offer new experiences for tourists while bolstering the destination’s global competitiveness.
“This rejuvenation program is part of ITDC’s commitment to maintaining service standards and the quality of The Nusa Dua as Indonesia’s premium tourism destination. We are not just upgrading infrastructure; we are also preparing more representative public spaces to support various tourism activities and international events, while strengthening the area’s sustainability aspects. Through this transformation, we aim to deliver an increasingly comfortable, safe, and memorable experience for every visitor to The Nusa Dua,” Agus said.
Project developments are visible across several major work packages. The redevelopment of the Peninsula Island area and the access route to Water Blow has registered the highest progress, reaching 78.549%. Meanwhile, the revitalization and arrangement of the Amenity Core (AC) Gate access road leading to Peninsula Island has reached 32.502%, the construction of the Nusa Dharma Island access road stands at 26.44%, and the installation of waste management systems, infiltration facilities, and Ground Water Tanks (GWT) has reached 21.72%.
Several elements of The Nusa Dua have already been fully completed, showcasing the new face of Peninsula Island. Turf establishment at the Peninsula Amphitheater area is 100% complete, followed by the installation of andesite stone paving at the helipad and the pathway to the Taksu Art Stage, which have also reached 100%. Meanwhile, the redevelopment of the former Peninsula access road has reached 90.18% completion, making the area’s new character increasingly visible.
To maintain construction momentum, ITDC continues to optimize priority tasks. These include completing the area’s road overlays, paving the AC Gate access to Peninsula Island, finalizing infiltration facilities in The Bay area and the Peninsula corridor, and accelerating the completion of the Water Blow facility—one of the premier tourism icons in The Nusa Dua.
In line with its commitment to sustainable development, ITDC is also strengthening environmental infrastructure. This includes constructing rainwater harvesting facilities, upgrading drainage systems, managing regional waste, and providing public amenities that are more accessible and user-friendly for both tourists and the local community.
Agus added that the progress visible today is part of a long-term transformation to ensure The Nusa Dua is well-equipped to meet the demands of the future tourism industry.
”The transformation starting to take shape today is part of ITDC’s long-term investment to unveil a new face for Peninsula Island. Once all works are completed, this area will become a more vibrant, comfortable, and iconic public space. It will simultaneously strengthen The Nusa Dua’s competitiveness as a world-class tourism destination, ready to welcome tourists and international events while delivering sustainable economic benefits for Bali and Indonesia,” Agus concluded.
