Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport recorded up to 13.2 million passenger movements during the seven-month period from January to July 2026. This figure comprises 8.5 million international passengers and 4.7 million domestic passengers.
PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (Persero), or InJourney Airports—the operator of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport—also noted that it served 80,000 aircraft movements during the same period, consisting of 43,000 international flights and 36,000 domestic flights.
General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Nugroho Jati, stated that flight and airport operations ran smoothly throughout the first seven months of 2026.
“As the air mobility gateway to Bali, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport plays a strategic role in supporting the tourism sector, as well as the movement of both domestic and international travelers. We are pleased to report that from January through July 2026, all flight and airport operations ran smoothly, with services optimized for airport users,” said Nugroho Jati.
During this period, the top five international routes by passenger volume at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport were Singapore (1.5 million passengers), followed by Kuala Lumpur (903,000), Perth (687,000), Melbourne (630,000), and Sydney (494,000).
International passenger and flight movements during the January–July 2026 period were served by 44 airlines, including both domestic and foreign carriers. Throughout this period, the airport was connected to 42 international routes across 16 countries on various continents. Australia accounted for the highest number of international routes, totaling 12 routes.
From January to July 2026, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport served as the entry point for 4 million foreign tourists arriving in Bali. Based on data from the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Australia topped the list of foreign arrivals, reaching 1 million tourists or 25% of the total foreign visitor traffic. China followed with 358,000 visitors, India with 327,000, South Korea with 174,000, and the United Kingdom with 172,000.
On the domestic front, the top five busiest routes were Cengkareng (2.1 million passengers), Surabaya (738,000), Labuan Bajo (309,000), Makassar (258,000), and Lombok Praya (253,000). During the January–July 2026 period, Bali was connected to 24 domestic routes operated by 11 airlines.
“I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport also functions as a hub, connecting both international and domestic passengers to various surrounding destinations, including key tourist spots like Labuan Bajo and Lombok. This reinforces the airport’s role as a vital connectivity hub for Indonesia and the broader regional area,” added Nugroho Jati.
In addition to handling passenger and flight movements, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport processed 67,000 tons of cargo during the period, comprising 50,000 tons of international cargo and 17,000 tons of domestic cargo.
“The positive traffic results during this period provide momentum for us to continuously maintain and elevate service quality for all airport users, while ensuring compliance with flight security and safety standards,” stated Nugroho Jati.
