During a press conference on Monday (June 29, 2026), Bali Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya, announced that the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) and regional police ranks remain committed to maintaining public order and security through the establishment of the Quick Response Unit (URC).
Accompanying the Police Chief were Director of General Criminal Investigation Senior Commissioner Lintar Mahardhono, Director of Special Criminal Investigation Senior Commissioner Wisnu Prabowo, Head of Public Relations Senior Commissioner Ariasandy, and Head of Professional and Security Division Senior Commissioner Ketut Agus Kusmayadi.
The formation of the URC comes as a direct follow-up to directives from the National Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri) aimed at improving rapid response times to various street crimes—specifically theft with force (Curat), robbery (Curas), vehicle theft (Curanmor), and petty theft (Cusa) within the Bali Police jurisdiction. The URC is backed by 327 personnel dedicated to taking swift action on all criminal reports and incidents.
Throughout June 2026, the Ditreskrimum URC team, alongside regional police investigation units, successfully resolved 80 criminal cases involving Curat, Curas, Curanmor, and Cusa across Bali, apprehending a total of 97 suspects. The breakdown of the cases is as follows:
• 32 cases of theft with force (Curat) involving 40 suspects.
• 5 cases of robbery (Curas) involving 6 suspects.
• 30 cases of motor vehicle theft (Curanmor) involving 39 suspects.
• 13 cases of petty theft (Cusa) involving 12 suspects.
Out of the total suspects detained, 93 are male and 4 are female. Authorities have placed 96 suspects under official detention, while one juvenile suspect was not detained, in compliance with applicable juvenile justice regulations.
In addition to arresting the perpetrators, the police successfully seized a wide array of stolen property and evidence, including:
• 47 motorcycles
• 3 cars
• 20 smartphones
• 4 laptops
• Tens of millions of rupiah in cash, two gold bars, gold jewelry, livestock, LPG cylinders, debit cards, and various other items linked to the uncovered crimes.
“This successful crackdown reflects the Bali Police’s commitment to ensuring public safety while reducing crime rates across the region,” said Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya. He also urged the public to remain proactive by immediately reporting any criminal activities or suspicious behavior to the nearest police station or via the 110 hotline.
”Synergy between the police and the community is the ultimate key to creating a safe, comfortable, and conducive environment within the Bali Police jurisdiction. I emphasize that there is no safe haven for criminals in Bali,” the Police Chief firmly concluded.
