The Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) continues to demonstrate its commitment to protecting the public from the circulation of illegal goods.
Following up on various enforcement actions in the customs and excise sector, the Regional Office of DJBC for Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara (Bali Nusra Customs Regional Office)—in collaboration with Ngurah Rai Customs and Denpasar Customs—destroyed State-Owned Goods (BMMN) seized from enforcement actions between September 2025 and June 2026.

The total value of the destroyed goods reached IDR 11,242,663,248 (IDR 11.2 billion), successfully safeguarding potential state revenue losses of IDR 4,416,351,787 (IDR 4.4 billion).
The confiscated goods that were destroyed included:
• 16,138 bottles of Ethyl Alcohol-Containing Beverages (MMEA)
• 3,780,297 sticks of cigarettes and cigars
• 540 e-cigarette/vape cartridges
• Passenger baggage and postal packages containing 132 units of mobile phones, laptops, and tablets
• 3,384 packages of medicines and cosmetics
• 2,110 packages of clothing
• 410 packages of medical devices
• 1,111 packages of various other goods
The successful disclosure of these violations stems from continuous operations conducted by Customs alongside law enforcement agencies and related institutions. This collaboration is key to protecting the territory of the Republic of Indonesia from the influx and distribution of illegal goods that pose health risks to the public, harm compliant business operators, and reduce state revenues.
In addition to the destruction carried out in Bali, customs and excise enforcement goods under the oversight of West Nusa Tenggara Province (Mataram Customs, Sumbawa Customs) and East Nusa Tenggara Province (Labuan Bajo Customs, Kupang Customs, Atambua Customs) have also been or will soon be destroyed. These goods carry an estimated value of IDR 15,262,809,798, with potential state revenue losses amounting to IDR 9,653,234,949.
The items comprise 1,447 bottles of MMEA, 9,427,475 sticks of cigarettes, 123,273 grams of cut tobacco, 21 bales of secondhand clothing (balepressed), as well as 3,207 packages of various cross-border and miscellaneous goods.
First Half of 2026 Enforcement Performance
Regarding supervisory performance during the first semester of 2026, the Bali Nusra Customs Regional Office, together with its network of Customs and Excise Services Offices across Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara, successfully executed 887 enforcement actions. These included seizures of narcotics, psychotropics, and precursors (NPP), with total seized goods valued at IDR 109.6 billion.
Furthermore, Customs completed 2 (two) investigations into excise-related criminal offenses, which have been declared complete (P21) and transferred to the Prosecutor’s Office. The Bali Nusra Customs Regional Office also realized administrative sanctions in the form of fines totaling IDR 5.36 billion for excise violations through the ultimum remedium mechanism.
The Head of the Bali, NTB, and NTT Customs Regional Office, Iyan Rubiyanto, stated that the disposal of illegal goods is not merely ceremonial, but serves as state accountability for the enforcement actions undertaken. Through this action, Customs ensures that goods capable of endangering the public or violating regulations are permanently removed from circulation.
”Every illegal item we secure not only saves potential state revenue, but also protects the public from health and safety risks, as well as the negative impacts on the national economy. We will continue to strengthen synergy with all law enforcement agencies and the community to create a healthy, fair, and equitable trading environment,” said the Head of the Regional Office.
Beyond its core function as a Revenue Collector, Customs also operates as a Community Protector, shielding society from the entry, exit, and circulation of dangerous, illegal, and non-compliant goods. Concurrently, as a Trade Facilitator and Industrial Assistance provider, Customs ensures that law-abiding business entities receive legal certainty and fair market competition, thereby boosting national economic competitiveness.
