A total of 38 Indian nationals stood trial today for their alleged involvement in online scamming and gambling operations within the Bali jurisdiction. The suspects have been in the custody of the Bali Regional Police’s Cyber Crime Unit (Siber Polda Bali) since February 2026, following their arrest in South Kuta, Badung.
During the raid, Bali Police seized a significant amount of evidence, including 16 laptops, 8 personal computers, multiple desktops, memory cards, and suitcases containing personal clothing.

Public Prosecutor Anom Rai stated that the inaugural hearing was originally scheduled for today, Tuesday, June 23, to read out the indictments. The charges involve promoting, operating, and managing online gambling content.
”If found guilty, the defendants face between 4 to 10 years in prison under Article 303 of the Criminal Code (KUHP), alongside Articles 27 and 45 of the Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) Law,” Rai explained.

However, due to the absence of the presiding judge, the hearing has been postponed until next Monday. “All defendants have been remanded back to the Kerobokan Penitentiary in Denpasar until the next scheduled trial date,29 June 2026,” the prosecutor added.
