Eyewitness – BALI, INDONESIA

Australian political commentator and LUX Property Group founder Jamie McIntyre says he believes he possesses evidence identifying a third party as the founder and driving force behind GIM Trading, the controversial investment scheme that became the subject of media investigations and regulatory scrutiny in Australia.
Mr. McIntyre said the situation became particularly significant to him after he later became involved in disputes surrounding the Marina Bay City development project in Lombok, Indonesia, where he alleges he and investors suffered financial losses.
According to Mr. McIntyre, the connection dates back to 2023 when an associate introduced a company known as GIM Trading, which was promoting AI-powered trading software to investors.
“We had 11 clients who paid for licences to trial the software,” Mr. McIntyre said.
“That’s how we came into possession of evidence, including WhatsApp communications, which we believe identify a third party as the mastermind and founder behind GIM Trading.”
Mr. McIntyre said the evidence was later provided to Australian authorities and investigators after concerns emerged regarding both the GIM Trading matter and issues surrounding the Marina Bay City project.
According to public reports, GIM Trading became the subject of investigations after investors alleged substantial losses. Media reports stated that millions of dollars were transferred offshore and that authorities examined the movement of investor funds.
Mr. McIntyre said his company was fortunate to avoid losses because concerns emerged before the business model evolved further.
“At the time, GIM was transitioning into a fund structure,” he said.
“Fortunately, we were able to negotiate refunds for all 11 of our clients who had purchased licences for the AI trading platform. None of our clients lost any money.”
Mr. McIntyre said it was only years later that the significance of the information became apparent.
“My CFO came to me after researching reports relating to GIM Trading and asked whether I knew anything about the company after seeing media coverage suggesting millions of dollars had disappeared and investigators were trying to determine who was behind it,” he said.
“I told her I believed I already knew who was behind it because I had retained the WhatsApp communications and documentation from 2023.”
Mr. McIntyre said he then provided the information and supporting material to the Australian Federal Police and a leading cybercrime investigator after seeking assistance regarding matters connected to the Marina Bay City project.
He further stated that he believes asset recovery may still be possible.
“Based on information available to me, I suspect some of the funds may have been used to acquire land adjacent to our Lombok development in a project known as Saraya Lombok,” Mr. McIntyre said.
“If that is the case, there may be opportunities for investigators and affected parties to trace assets and determine where the funding originated.”
Mr. McIntyre said investigators would be wise to examine the project and establish where the monies used to fund it came from, arguing that following the money trail could assist efforts to recover assets for affected investors if any wrongdoing is ultimately established.
Mr. McIntyre described the situation as an example of what he called “the irony of the universe,” claiming that an individual he believes was involved in one controversial investment operation later became connected to disputes involving one of his own property developments.
“Maybe karma exists,” he said. “The same individuals I believe were behind the GIM Trading operation later became involved in matters that impacted my own company. Fortunately, we avoided losses in the GIM matter, but unfortunately not in the Marina Bay City dispute.”
The allegations and claims referred to in this article have not been determined by a court, and any findings regarding responsibility for GIM Trading, Marina Bay City, Saraya Lombok, or related matters remain subject to investigations and legal processes.
